THE CENTRAL PARK FIVE
Directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns and David McMahon

New York City, 1989. The entire city is a powder keg waiting to burst due to high crime, crack being king, and economic depression living side by side with lavish opulence.   That April, five black and Latino teenagers - Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, and Khary Wise - are charged and then convicted of raping a white woman in Central Park. After they had spent between 6 and 13 years each in prison, a serial rapist confessed to the crime. They were innocent the entire time.

Filmmakers Ken Burns, Sarah Burns and David McMahon examine the 1989 case interviewing the five men, their loved ones, and the attorneys, politicians and media makers who convicted the "Central Park Five" before they were even tried.
