KINDRED CONVERSATIONS is our intergenerational chats and media presentations of family members (and people in their lives who are like family) who intentionally produce Black cinema, art, and media.

Our inaugural edition features Brooklyn’s very own filmic family - THE SANTANAS!

Featuring family elders Al Santana and Marilyn Nance, children Ali Santana and RaFia Santana, and daughter-in-law Stephanie Santana, this family are ALL multidisciplinary artists that have widely contributed to the cinema, photography, video art, digital art, textile art, and music for close to five decades. They've influenced untold numbers of artists with unflinchingly diverse Black depictions of life, history, and the future using original and robust storytelling techniques. We are proud to showcase them and their work.

Beginning this Friday Dec. 8th at www.LuminalTheater.org see their works all in one place, THEN join us via YouTube OR Facebook on December 12th at 7pm for our live discussion with the sensational Santanas.
